The Gander

There is a page in these quarterly investment reports that I spend most of my waking hours creating called "Investment Policy Compliance". The whole point of the page is that if the investments are out of line with the policy, the client will know and can take action to correct it. So when I take this page to the Gander for a client that is out of compliance, he comes right back down here and tells me I have to change it because it is supposed to be in compliance. Ummmmm, no, see, cause that's not the truth. The truth is the people in charge of the money are putting it in the wrong place, and THEY need to fix that problem. My job is to call 'em like I see 'em, in this case, wrong. But whatever. Somehow I got on his ignore list a few weeks ago, so when he does actually have to speak to me he is always incensed. That's fine, I'm accustomed to his tantrums. Not that I couldn't do without them...I see those big city lights beckoning me away from all this bullshit. Sweet home, Chicago.

In the meantime, these political adds are driving me crazy. I can't wait for Tuesday to be over, I have had it with this campaign. It is so comforting to know that come next presidential election year I'll be living in Illinois instead of a swing state. Granted my vote won't really count, but at least there won't be people in town tying up traffic more than it already is.

Twice the ignorance?

I thought double entendre was a pretty common phrase, but I guess not since half the people I know seem confused by it's usage. We can't all be word snobs I guess. Mary and Rob are going to be a double entendre for Halloween. Should be fun. Now if only I could find two hairy guys to be Playboy bunnies to my Hugh Hefner...

Building a Religion

I can't believe I drove all the way to Columbus on a school night last week to see CAKE, and then they added dates to their tour and now they are coming here. I guess I've had my CAKE and now I have to eat it too.
